Director General of Smart Dubai Office

H.E. Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr is the Director General of the Smart Dubai Office, the government entity charged with overseeing Dubai's city-wide smart transformation, and coordinating public and private-sector efforts to make Dubai a benchmark for smart cities around the world.  

Before assuming her current position, Dr Aisha served as Assistant Director General of the Executive Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The Executive Office is in charge of implementing H.H. Sheikh Mohammed's vision to place Dubai at the fore of smart development on a global scale, and to establish the emirate as an international hub for the future industry.

During her tenure at the Executive Office, Dr Aisha was tapped to lead the Smart Dubai taskforce team from the time the Smart Dubai initiative was announced in March 2014, till the formation of the Smart Dubai Office. H.E. represents Smart Dubai in conferences and events around the world, including City Protocol Society, Smart City Expo World Congress, and GSMA, among others.

Elsewhere, Dr Aisha worked in the Ministry of Labour as an Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, in charge of strategic management, partnership development, and change management policies. With more than 20 years of experience in ICT development in the public sector, H.E. possesses extensive analytical, coordination, communication, and advocacy skills.

Jim Doyle is Director of Technical Resources at WET. He guides WET’s teams as they pursue marrying ever more challenging technologies with human experience. Jim’s contribution includes the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, Performance Lake at Wynn Macau, the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games Cauldron, the Mirage Volcano in Las Vegas, CityCenter in Las Vegas, and the world’s largest performing fountain, The Dubai Fountain in the UAE.

Jim received an Academy Award in Technical Achievement in 1992. With more than three dozen feature films to his credit, Jim is a veteran special effects technician. His entertainment credits include: Cirque du Soleil; Tama Center of Tokyo, Japan; Universal Studios California and Florida, as well as Rio Hotel, Desert Inn, Mirage Hotel and Treasure Island in Las Vegas, Nevada, and he has supervised special effects for more than one hundred music videos and television commercials.

Jim holds pyrotechnic licenses for the states of California and Nevada and holds a federal license as a user of high explosives.

Hana Alamuddin, R.I.B.A , SMarchs (M.I.T), LEED AP ND
Ms. Alamuddin   has served as a board member of the Lebanon Green Building Council since 2014 and is a member of The Royal Institute of British Architects and the Order of Engineers Lebanon.
She graduated from Greenwich University in the UK with a full professional degree, R.I.B.A 3 and then went on to do her Master of Science in Architectural Studies (SMarchs) in Designing for Islamic Societies at the Aga Khan Program, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T, U.S.A). In 2014 she became a  LEED Accredited Professional in Neighborhood Design .

Ms. Alamuddin started her award winning practice, Almimariya, Architects and Designers for Sustainable Development in 1999. The practice works on architectural, urban design and landscape projects within the perimeters of sustainable development and energy efficient construction. She has projects built in Lebanon, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. As a member of the executive committee of the Association Pour la Protection des Sites et Anciennes Demeures Liban (APSAD) from 1999 to 2008, she worked on several heritage preservation  and post war reconstruction projects in Lebanon and published several articles on the built environment. Ms. Alamuddin served as a technical reviewer for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture for three consecutive cycles. (998, 2001, 2004). Ms. Alamuddin is a Senior Lecturer at the American University of Beirut.

Kirk holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Long Beach USA and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a certificate in Judicial Administration from the University of Southern California, USA. He has also been an adjunct professor for two universities in Southern California for the past 15 years teaching business management, human resources and ethics courses.

An organization for community association management professionals called Community Association Institute (CAI) provides education to managers, owners, business partners and other stakeholders in the Owners Association industry.   Kirk holds many designations from CAI and has been teaching courses for over 20 years.   He received the instructor of the year from CAI which was one of the reasons he was invited to teach courses for the Dubai Real Estate (DREI) Institute a few years back. Kirk is on the DREI faculty and teaches many courses dealing with association management, including finance, communications, governance, developer transition, and best practices.

Kirk has been a part of management teams for communities with budgets exceeding 85,000,000 USD with thousands of homes and acres.  He is a subject matter expert in high rise management.  Prior to joining Khidmah, he was vice president of a management firm in Southern California responsible for large scale communities and high rises.

Kirk’s UAE experience includes managing Motor City in Dubai and working with a large management firm running their Property Management section. One major focus for Kirk is to provide leadership and advice to Owners Association elected Boards as the communities begin their self-governance journey, transitioning from developer control. Kirk has been providing this type of advice for over 30 years.
